EXMAN Monthly Digest – Welcome to October!

Distinguished Colleagues,

Welcome to the month of October and to the final quarter of 2023.

It gives me great pleasure to address you as we inch closer to the final lap of this very interesting year.

SECRETARIAT

During the outgone month, a letter was sent to the British American Tobacco (BAT) for non-.
compliance to the Advertising Industry Standard of Practice (AISOP), as regards their insistence on a 90-day payment term as against the 45-day payment term stipulated by the law.

The month of September created the avenue for the president and her EXCO to meet with
agency heads on conversations around the EXMAN loyalty Scheme and updates on the
Stanbic IBTC Concession deal. The official inauguration of all standing committees also took place at the meeting.

The secretariat again played host to the final practice group session of the year- Financial Management in Experiential Marketing. Seventeen (17) agencies registered to attend the
training. We however had Twenty (20) attendees in all.

The association has also intensified efforts on its partnerships with various tertiary institutions, with a view to ensuring that students offering courses in related disciplines are given a head start. Letters have been written to partner with the following schools, viz:
University of Lagos, University of Ilorin, Ojaja University, Yaba College of Technology,
University of Ibadan and The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

OTHER BUSINESSES
Finally, as we settle into the twilight months of this year, let us not lose sight of the grace of
life that we collectively enjoy.
The ebb and flow of the tides may not be drifting in your favor but consider it a blessing that
you are reading this treatise. Not everyone who started out this year is still with us.
In the words of the longest serving first lady of the United States, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt,
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
The future belongs to those who take it.
Long live the association.
Cheers!

Olurotimi Rhodes
