Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to February – The Month of Love!
As we embrace the month of February—often celebrated as the Month of Love—we are
reminded of the essence of connection, trust, and meaningful engagement, all of which are
fundamental to the work we do as experiential marketers. Just as love nurtures relationships, so
does our ability to create immersive brand experiences that resonate deeply with consumers. This
month, let’s continue to infuse passion and creativity into our craft, ensuring that brands and
consumers build lasting bonds through the power of experience.
EXMAN Agencies Undergo Corporate License Inspection
EXMAN remains committed to ensuring that our member agencies operate in compliance with
industry regulations and uphold the highest professional standards. As part of this commitment,
the Secretariat has been actively supporting agencies in renewing their corporate licenses,
ensuring full adherence to Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) guidelines.
Recently, some EXMAN agencies underwent corporate license inspections, led by ARCON in
collaboration with key industry associations such as the Association of Advertising Agencies of
Nigeria (AAAN), the Media Independents Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN), and the
Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN). These inspections are a critical step in
ensuring that agencies meet industry standards before licenses are issued.
The corporate license inspection exercise will continue in the coming months, and we encourage
all member agencies to remain proactive in meeting regulatory standards. The EXMAN Secretariat
remains available to provide guidance, assist with documentation, and ensure a seamless
compliance process. By working collaboratively with industry stakeholders, EXMAN reaffirms its
commitment to professionalism, compliance, and the growth of the experiential marketing sector.

Global Trade & Tariff Issues: Potential Implications for Nigeria
On the international front, ongoing trade and tariff tensions between the United States and its
neighboring countries have raised concerns across multiple industries, including marketing and
advertising. While these issues may seem distant, their ripple effects can impact Nigeria’s
economy and, by extension, the experiential marketing landscape.
Potential implications may possibly include:
- Supply Chain Disruptions: Higher costs on imported materials and branded merchandise
used for activations.
- Budget Adjustments: Multinational brands operating in Nigeria may reassess marketing
budgets due to economic uncertainty.
- Shift to Digital-First Engagements: With cost pressures mounting, brands may explore AI
driven and technology-based experiential campaigns as cost-effective alternatives etc
As an industry, we must stay agile, anticipate these global shifts, and explore innovative, locally
driven solutions to maintain the effectiveness of our activations.
A Note of Encouragement
As we navigate an ever-evolving business landscape, let’s remember that challenges often bring
opportunities for growth. Whether it’s adapting to regulatory changes, global economic shifts, or
operational hurdles, the key lies in resilience, innovation, and collaboration. EXMAN remains
committed to supporting our members every step of the way.
Let’s keep pushing boundaries, creating remarkable brand experiences, and reinforcing the value
of experiential marketing in Nigeria. Wishing you all a successful and fulfilling month ahead!
Warm Regards
Angela Ukara-Makinwa
